CHRISTI ETCHER: HUMAN ART

photos by Eric Thornett

commentary by rOtunde'

sometimes i wish we could go back in time, when we were more oppressed.

the problem is

too

many

freedoms

how can i be expected to live my life free and clear when there are so many distractions?

why should i study, or learn, when there are potato chips to eat and

television to watch?

i wish i had a three-story tall Mother who would boss me around.

dark and foreboding, yet beautiful. i see two things at once

double

i hate the woods. once i dated a wonderful woman and we went for a walk. she had a wooden leg and she stepped into the creek and a little fishy got caught inside and we couldn't get it out. we fed it crackers for three weeks and then it died, and my love couldn't afford a new leg so she had to use a table leg.

i do so hate the

woods

when i dream, i dream of nice things.

when i dream, i dream of good.

i dream of kind women

not of

bugs eating my brain or

my fingers turning into candles or

foot long french fries

do you dream too?

why must we see in

color?

wouldn't things be simpler if we saw things in black and white?

some people do

like LIBERALS and CONSERVATIVES

but that is not literal

i want to really see in black and white

it would comfort me and life would be better.

However, would need to make stoplights learn to speak, or there would be many accidents

ghost

ghost

ghosts

Ghost

ghost in nice shoes

they say eyes are the windows into the soul

what would a window be then?

spy...dirty spy

because while people are outside

you could watch them, hidden inside in safety and see what they do. do they have a dog? did it go to the bathroom? did they clean it?

do they breathe often, in short, quick breaths, or do they take long breaths and hold them?

things to ponder.

things to

glean

these pictures were wonderful.

christi is a good woman

and thanks to eric for letting me try to make the world a better place through my words.

thank-you.

**Note from Eric Thornett - originally these pictures were taken for a magazine article that was going to be printed about Christi, but the magazine, which rhymes with Temme Tatales, changed their style and staff. So as of now, the article sits in limbo but may still show up elsewhere.
