THE BIGGEST STUNT

Blake (David Stewart) is trapped in the woods by the Mr. (David Seidel), who is holding a severed head. So Blake does what you or I would do...

He runs! Run Blake, run!

Unfortuately, Blake reaches the end of the road in the form of a really really tall cliff. So, he does what you or I would do...

He jumps! I wouldn't do that!

It's a long way down for poor Blake. How could he survive this fall?

Lucky Blake! The hard trees break his fall!

This is where David Stewart earned his dollar!

More falling to do. Much more beautiful falling.

Even more breaking of branches, until...

Finally, Stewart reaches the bottom. Of course, this was shot to show that he did not land on a mat. Just cold, hard ground.

The idea of the stunt was a collaboration between Stewart and director Eric Thornett. Since Thornett did not have to actually do this, he was all for it. "Great idea!" he said. The stunt took half a day to shoot, and the results are well worth it. The only thing seriously hurt was the tree. Several takes were shot of Stewart crashing through the branches, and after each take, a large branch broke off. The evidence was quickly hidden from highway police, and filming would continue. Stewart came through with only minor scratches and bruises. After the stunt was completed the satisfied director went to Stewart's house and made him cook dinner.
